Decenas, centenas y miles
thirty (30), forty (40, sin u), fifty (50), sixty (60), seventy (70), eighty (80), ninety (90), one hundred o a hundred (100), one thousand (1000), one million (1 000 000).
- Decenas y unidades van unidas con guion: twenty-one, thirty-five, ninety-nine.
- En inglés británico se dice and después de las centenas: two hundred and fifty (250). En inglés americano también se oye two hundred fifty.
- Thirteen (13) lleva el acento al final y thirty (30) al principio. Esa diferencia es la que evita confusiones al oído.

Las fechas se dicen con ordinal. "El 5 de mayo" se escribe May 5th o 5th May y se lee May fifth (inglés americano) o the fifth of May (inglés británico). Con fechas se usa on: on May 5th.
La hora
Se pregunta What time is it? y la respuesta empieza por It's.

Past equivale a "y", y to a "menos" o "para". También puedes leer los números tal cual: It's three fifteen.
Con el reloj de 12 horas se añade a.m. (de medianoche a mediodía) o p.m. (de mediodía a medianoche): The train leaves at 6 p.m. (El tren sale a las 18:00.) Para decir "a las" se usa at: at eight o'clock.
Ojo si hablas español
- "Son las tres" sin sujeto y "a las ocho" con artículo. ✗ Are three. / ✓ It's three o'clock. ✗ at the eight / ✓ at eight
- Fechas con número cardinal. ✗ the five of May / ✓ the fifth of May o May 5th
- hundred, thousand, million sin -s tras un número. "Dos millones" es plural en español, pero ✗ two millions people / ✓ two million people. ✗ three hundreds euros / ✓ three hundred euros.
- El punto y la coma en los números. Donde muchos países hispanohablantes escriben 3,5 y 1.000, el inglés escribe 3.5 (se lee three point five) y 1,000.
